The short version: Your email is for verification only. Your survey data is always anonymised before any business ever sees it. We never sell your personal information. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
Who we are
Perseus Network ("Perseus", "we", "us", "our") is a privacy-first personal data ownership platform. Our Aegis product allows users ("Data Consultants") to contribute to data surveys and earn PERS tokens when businesses purchase anonymised, aggregated datasets.
Perseus Network is currently operated as an independent project and will be registered as a limited company in the United Kingdom. Our primary contact for data-related matters is hello@perseusnetwork.com.
This Privacy Policy applies to all Perseus Network products and services, including the Aegis platform at perseusnetwork.com/aegis.html and the main website at perseusnetwork.com.
Data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the Aegis platform. We collect data in two ways — data you provide directly, and data collected automatically.
Data you provide directly:
- Email address — used for account verification and platform notifications only
- Password — stored encrypted, never readable by Perseus
- Country — used to match you to relevant surveys
- Age group — used to match you to relevant surveys
- Gender — used to match you to relevant surveys
- Employment status — used to match you to relevant surveys
- Interests — used to match you to relevant surveys
- Wallet address — used solely to distribute PERS token earnings to you
- Survey responses — collected with your explicit consent per survey. May include preferences on topics such as insurance, travel, shopping, lifestyle and others as surveys become available. Each survey clearly states what data it collects before you begin.
Data collected automatically:
- Basic usage data — pages visited, time on site
- Device type and browser — for platform compatibility
- IP address — for security and fraud prevention only
How we use your data
We use your data for the following purposes only:
- To verify your identity and manage your Aegis account
- To match you to surveys that are relevant to your profile
- To aggregate and anonymise survey responses into datasets
- To distribute PERS token earnings to your wallet address
- To send you platform notifications and account updates
- To improve the Aegis platform and survey matching accuracy
- To comply with legal obligations
Important: When businesses purchase a dataset, they receive aggregated and anonymised data only. No individual profile, email address, wallet address, or personally identifiable information is ever included in or accessible from a purchased dataset.
What we never do
These are absolute commitments, not subject to change without explicit notice and your consent:
- We never sell your personal data to any third party
- We never share your email address with businesses or advertisers
- We never link your personal identity to survey responses visible to businesses
- We never use your data for purposes beyond those stated in this policy
- We never collect data from surveys without your explicit consent per survey
- We never share your wallet address with businesses or third parties
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database platform with enterprise-grade security. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption.
Survey responses are encrypted before storage and anonymised before any aggregation or delivery to business clients.
Your password is hashed and never stored in readable form. Perseus staff cannot view your password.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data associated with your account is permanently deleted within 30 days, with the exception of data required for legal compliance.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you can correct inaccurate or incomplete data at any time through your account settings
- Right to erasure — you can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time
- Right to restriction — you can ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object — you can object to processing of your data at any time
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been handled incorrectly.
Cookies
Perseus Network uses only essential cookies necessary for the platform to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
Essential cookies we use:
- Session cookies — to keep you logged in during your visit
- Security cookies — to protect against cross-site request forgery
These cookies are deleted when you close your browser or log out. No cookie data is shared with third parties.
Third party services
Perseus Network uses the following third party services to operate the platform:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Data stored in accordance with their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy
- Base blockchain — for PERS token transactions. Wallet addresses and transaction data are publicly visible on-chain by nature of blockchain technology
- GitHub Pages — website hosting
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or behavioural tracking services.
As Perseus Network grows, additional service providers may be added. This policy will be updated accordingly and you will be notified of any material changes.
Children
Aegis and Perseus Network services are not directed at or intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has registered on our platform, please contact us at hello@perseusnetwork.com and we will delete the account immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify registered consultants by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Continued use of the Aegis platform after changes are notified constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with changes, you have the right to delete your account at any time.
